Stem Kit Challenge for High School Students - Deadline extended to Feb. 28, 2022

AWA Foundation And Girls Scouts Of Southeastern Michigan Have Partnered To Present The 2021/2022 STEM Kit Challenge
Calling All High School Students!
Do you like coming up with fun ideas?
Do you have ideas on how to have fun with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math?
Do you want to help advance and empower middle school students, age 13 and older, in STEM?
Are you a high school student or know one that would be interested in the AWAF STEM Kit CHALLENGE?
If you answered “yes” to all of the above, AWAF is looking for you to participate in the AWAF STEM KIT CHALLENGE.
The AWAF STEM KIT CHALLENGE invites high school students to submit their STEM KIT ideas. Ideas may be selected and may be rolled out to middle school students, age 13 or older, to engage them in STEM initiatives.
Deadline to submit for 2021/2022 STEM Kit Challenge has been extened to Monday, February 28, 2022.
Selection Process
Those that participate in the AWAF STEM KIT CHALLENGE will form a team of 1 to 4 and will create a STEM kit at a material cost of no more than $25. A panel of AWAF judges will review the finished STEM kits and may select a STEM kit(s)as the winner of the AWAF STEM KIT CHALLENGE. Read complete rules, terms and agreement.
2021/2022 STEM Kit Challenge will be judged based on the following criteria:
• Presentation - Make a video of yourself describing your STEM Kit and the STEM concept it represents (5 minutes max).
• Age appropriateness (for middle schoolers)
• Budget should be no more than $25
• Creativity
• Time limit (45-minute assembly time)
• Ease and clarity of instructions
• Material list
Prizes
- The opportunity to earn 10 to 20 hours of community service
- A $100 Amazon gift card.
- The winning STEM kit may be created in bulk and delivered to a group of middle school students, age 13 or older at a select middle school.

If the winning STEM kit is created and distributed, the winning team will have the option of having their name, along with the name of AWAF and the name of any sponsor(s) on the STEM kit.
