How many members are there in AWAF?
We currently have more than 300 members.
Where are the members located geographically?
Our members are primarily located in southeastern Michigan, but we also have members throughout the United States and beyond.
When did AWAF evolve?
AWAF kicked off its journey in 1996, laying the foundation for a mission-driven organization. In 2002, it proudly became a recognized non-profit under the 501(c)(3) designation, solidifying its commitment to making a difference!
What is AWAF’s mission?
The mission of the Automotive Women's Alliance Foundation is to advance and empower every woman in automotive and related industries.
What types of companies are represented in the membership?
Our members represent various sectors of the automotive and mobility industries, and we welcome diversity. We accept members from sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, distribution, legal, and more.
Are there sponsorships available?

Why join AWAF?
AWAF gives members the ability to work with and get to know some of the most powerful, influential men and women in the automotive industry that in normal everyday business one may not have the opportunity to meet. Your membership also supports our scholarship program that assists women who want to be or are already part of the automotive industry with their education and our STEM outreach programs to middle and high school students that encourage girls to consider a career in the automotive industry. How do members become involved in committees?
Our Coaching, Marketing, Programs/Events, Membership, Mentoring, Professional Development, Sponsorship and Golf committees welcome any additional members. We also have ad hoc committees. Current ad hoc committees are Paid Board Positions and Diversity and Inclusion Talent Pipeline. Please contact us for more information.
What types of events does AWAF offer?
Our events feature senior level women who share their experiences, knowledge and direction on industry subject matter. Our events offer the opportunity to meet, greet and learn from women who have “made it” or are paving the way for others to be in significant automotive industry roles. Does AWAF offer scholarships?
Yes, AWAF is dedicated to supporting women who are either in or entering into the automotive arena with scholarships. As of May 2026, we have awarded $805,000 in scholarships to 308 recipients.
