Volunteers Needed - AWAF STEM Kit Workshop with Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan

The AWAF STEM Committee is preparing to run another STEM Kit workshop with our partners MARZ/Velocity, and now the Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan!

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers~

Details:

• Dates:

• Session 1 (assembly)  - Saturday, December 6 from 10am – 2pm
• Session 2 (coding) – Saturday, December 13 from 10am – 2pm

• Location:

• IN PERSON -- Velocity Coworking Space: 6633 18 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48314

• Participation:

• ~30 girls per session
• Grades 7 – 9
• Earns participants their Cadette Programming Robots Girl Scouts badge.
  

Volunteers will be asked to roam the room and provide additional support to tables as needed as students work through the guided lesson plan. “Mini” HER Story talks will be given during the lunch break – please come prepared to tell participants who you are, what you do, what you’re passionate about, and answer any questions (no material prep needed unless there is something you would like to showcase).

If you cannot stay for the whole session on a day you are volunteering, please just clarify if you will be able to support the ‘mini HER Story’ lunch panel or not.
