     Directions

    Gain an understanding of the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DEI) Fundamentals required to value differences and be more inclusive in order to enhance personal and organizational contribution.

    Margaret Baxter is the executive director at CADIA, a non-profit organization dedicated to doubling the number of diverse leaders in the automotive industry by 2030. She is an operations and HR professional, with experience in the non-profit and for-profit sectors. 

    Most recently, Margaret was director of organizational development and integration for Inteva Products, where she implemented corporate policy change to engage and ignite employees at all levels, launched a D&I initiative and mentorship pilot, worked on global supply chain opportunities, IT initiatives, alliances and acquisitions due diligence, and training and leadership development.

    Her experience encompasses marketing, business development, sales, HR, M&A, membership, government affairs, strategic planning and project management.  She spent 20+ years in mainly the automotive industry and has international experience.

    Margaret is a certified D&I Professional from the National Diversity Council, earned an MA from Middlebury College and BA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also holds a certification in museum management from Northwestern University and attended training at the Canadian Foreign Service Institute, Ottawa, Canada.

    Margaret works with Vista Maria, a charity serving girls in the foster care system in Michigan; she also a 4H youth leader in Oakland County, and volunteers with Bowers Farm, a community farm in SE Michigan.

     

    Cheryl Thompson is the CEO and Founder of Center for Automotive Diversity, Inclusion & Advancement (CADIA). CADIA supports Diversity and Inclusion for the Automotive Industry by providing professional development for individuals, along with resources, programs and tools that drive organizational evolution.

    A veteran of the automotive industry, Cheryl has over 30 years of experience at Ford Motor Company and American Axle and Manufacturing in positions ranging from skilled trades, operations, engineering and global leadership.

    She is trained in diversity and inclusion, career and leadership coaching and is Six Sigma trained and certified as a Black Belt. Cheryl has been recognized as a 2019 Influential Women in Manufacturing Honoree, a 2019 Corp Magazine Salute to Diversity award winner, Marketing and Sales Executives of Detroit Platinum Award, and is the recipient of two Diversity and Inclusion Awards from Ford Motor Company.

    A sought-after voice and speaker in the automotive, manufacturing and aerospace & defense industries, Cheryl has performed keynote addresses, workshops and breakout sessions for a number of companies and events, including TEDx Windsor, Women in Manufacturing (WiM), the American Automotive Summit, Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and CADIA’s annual Rev Up 2030 event.
