Speaker: Christina McKenna - President, Bluestone Executive Communications

Founder and President of Bluestone Executive Communications, Christina McKenna is the voice whispering in the ear of some of the world’s most influential corporate and community leaders, preparing them to communicate with impact in high- stakes situations ranging from major media interviews to public crises to employee town halls.

Prior to founding the company, McKenna spent 12 years in the trenches of TV news as an on-air reporter and anchor in Boston, Seattle and Detroit, where she covered politicians, business leaders and celebrities as they confronted challenges in the glare of the public eye. Later, she moved to the other side of the microphone, as spokesperson for  Fortune 500 Boston Edison, where she helped the company navigate a series of high-profile crises, including those involving serious injury and death.

Now as President of Bluestone Executive Communications, McKenna leads her team in providing world class media training and speech and presentation coaching to CEOs, CFOs, company presidents and other professionals at companies that include General Motors, Magna, McCann WorldGroup, Masco, Aptiv, Continental, Cooper Standard, Lear, La-Z-Boy, Little Caesars, DTE Energy, Guardian, Gentherm, Honeywell, Hitachi, SealedAir, Shinola, Webasto, Xenith, ZF and dozens of others.

In addition to coaching and training professionals to be more impactful communicators, Christina is herself a sought-after keynote speaker. She has keynoted numerous industry events, including Inforum’s International Women’s Day Event in Grand Rapids, Michigan (2017) and the Women in Manufacturing Annual SUMMIT in Hartford, Connecticut (2017). In addition, McKenna has hosted or spoken at numerous other events for Inforum, the Original Equipment Suppliers Association  (OESA), the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Association for Advancing Automation, among others.

Christina earned a Bachelor’s at the University of Chicago and a Master’s from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. She spent two years as full time faculty at Boston's Suffolk University, where she taught journalism, writing and ethics. She also regularly writes about public speaking, professional branding and other topics in her blog Let’s Be Clear.
