Hayley is a senior at Kettering University, Flint, MI completing her BS in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Bioengineering Applications. Hayley has interned with General Motors since her freshman year. She has gained knowledge and first-hand experience in various areas of battery systems development including but not limited to performance testing, benchmarking, cost comparison analysis, thermal development, and root cause analysis. Her thesis topic is redeveloping a test procedure for thermal aging of battery systems in vehicles. Hayley graduates in September 2014 and her engineering career aspirations include working in electrification or occupant safety.
Hayley holds leadership positions with Alpha Sigma Alpha and the PanHellenic Council, is a peer mentor at Kettering University, Relay for Life Team development leader, and does community service with Smarter Girls Day Camp at Kettering since 2011 and volunteers at the local food bank and soup kitchen. A professor at Kettering wrote about Hayley as “smart, focused and passionate about her field. She is in the top 5% of all the students he taught in the last 15 years! She is sharp, dedicated, on time, ready to go and her work is top quality.” Hayley’s hometown is Flushing, MI.
