Elizabeth "Libby" is a graduate of Dexter High School, Dexter, MI and begins in the fall of 2013 to study Marketing at the University of Michigan. Her aspirations for marketing stem from her role model, her mother, who spent much of her career working in automotive marketing. Libby has a passion be part of the future automotive industry in the state of Michigan. She believes that for the state of Michigan to regain stability truly means young college educated professionals build out their careers and their community involvement to make Michigan thrive.
Libby was active in her high school dance team, marching and symphonic band, chamber orchestra, National Honor Society officer and received numerous honors and awards for scholastic achievements. Last summer, Libby volunteered as the videographer for an international non-governmental organization and to archive and edit together video segments of "Stories For Hope-Rwanda," to capture dialogues between youth genocide survivors and their elders, about the past. The director for the organization wrote "she is warm-hearted, empathic, yet very mature in her approach to a topic like young people coping with genocide. I was struck by her honesty and strength in going forward with the video, despite some grueling pieces." Libby's scholarship is co-sponsored by Ford Motor Company and we collectively agree she is an outstanding scholarship recipient.
