McKinna is a freshman at the University of North Texas (UNT), Denton, Texas studying mechanical and energy engineering. She credits her father for instilling the passion of cars. From a young age, he quizzed her on makes and models while on road trips and over time, McKinna developed her senses for the architecture, comfort and ride of a vehicle and looks forward to learning more and to bring a fresh prospective to designing future transportation. She was a high school cheerleader, played varsity softball, member of the National Honor Society, an 11 year member of the Girl Scout organization and she received academic All-District Honors throughout high school as a softball player.
McKinna volunteers at various community service organizations; LIVESTRONG charity, Cancer Survivors’ benefit, Relay for Life and with the Girl Scout’s she helped at nursing homes, homeless shelters and her church’s food pantry. She signed with UNT to play softball at the D1 college level, and holds a part time job at the YMCA. McKinna has many letters of recommendation, and all reiterate her qualities as a role model for others, good work ethics, and demonstrated leadership. Her home base is Buda, Texas.
