Laura is a freshman attending Kettering University, Flint, MI.  She became a member of FIRST Robotics in her junior year of school and says “It changed my life!”  Combining her love for math and physics, the robotics program influenced her to pursue a career in mechanical engineering.    In high school, Laura was varsity volleyball co-captain, varsity basketball assistant to coach, soccer player, member of the student government, and team captain for FIRST Robotics and maintained stellar academic grades.  Her awards include conference varsity volleyball and MVP awards, distinguished student awards, Society of Women Engineers Certificate of Merit, President’s Volunteer Service Award, just to name a few.  Laura volunteers at her church with bible study, youth group, and is a vocal performer and writes lyrics and music.    The recommendation letters received about Laura describe her attributes as, “Willingness to work, enthusiastic, responsible, conscientious, articulate, poised and mature.”  Laura represents all the right qualities and is well on her way to a successful future.  Laura comes from Flint, MI.
