Amy is a freshman at Kettering University, Flint, Michigan studying mechanical engineering. Her love for engineering started in high school at Clarkston Science and Math Technology Academy and Brandon High School. Amy discovered her passion after participating in the LITE (Lives Improved Through Engineering) at Kettering. As a college freshman, Amy joined the Society of Women Engineer’s, Engineer’s Without Borders, and was pledged to the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and made the Dean’s list. Her working internship is an ongoing rotation between school and employment with IAV Automotive Engineering in Northville, Michigan where she applies education to the real world of engineering. Her employer writes, “Amy is consistently one of the first people in the group to start diving into a problem to help provide a solution.” “She always shows great initiative, diligence and able to develop intelligent plans and implement them successfully.” Amy currently serves as president of Kettering University Model United Nation’s Club and is an active member of the Fifth Quarter Leadership Group at her church. Amy says she has always sought to inspire younger women to realize their potential and reach their goals, even as a minority in the Automotive Engineering industry. Amy hails from Ortonville, Michigan.
