Bethany is a third year mechanical engineering student at Saginaw Valley State University, University Center, Michigan. Her lifelong dream of working in the automotive industry stems from her father, her role model, who works in automotive safety. Bethany has completed four intern rotations thus far working on airbag modules and steering wheel prototype builds and testing. She has been leading a project comparing previous airbag programs at Takata and finding the best method for future products. She also facilitates customer schedules and delivery requirements and communicates with the customer base and internal global colleagues. Bethany serves as Vice President of Society of Women Engineers, Saginaw Valley State University chapter and was integral in organizing STEM based activities with the Girl Scouts of Saginaw, middle and high school students and secured university funding for its members to generate new opportunities for women in engineering. Bethany’s faculty advisor, Dr. Muraleedharan, explained in recommendation letter of her hard work, self-motivation, enthusiasm, keen listener, intricate critical thinking, team player and possesses professionalism. Bethany’s hometown is Oxford, Michigan. The scholarship sponsored by Cox Automotive.
