Scholarship Courtesy of Johnson Controls Inc. A junior at Kettering University, in Flint, Michigan, she is majoring in Mechanical Engineering and works on a co-op work/school rotation program. Nikki’s automotive exposure at BAE Systems in Texas included lab experience in occupational and crash worthiness, design reviews for human factors and ergonomic studies, and prototype build and verification. She also worked with test engineering, propulsion and chassis teams to complete the build of a prototype truck. She is involved in numerous school related activities and organizations including Kettering University Engineers Without Borders, Society of Women Engineers, American Society of Mechanical Engineers and Kagle Leadership Initiatives, just to name a few. Nikki is passionate about engineering and recruiting more young women into the field. She takes these words to action and participates each summer in Smarter Girls Day Camp which gives young women a chance to learn about different careers and see exciting things in math, science and engineering. She is also a resident advisor for LITE students (Lives Improved Through Engineering) for Kettering University. Nikki’s home is San Angelo, Texas.
