Kathryn is dual-enrolled at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan as senior graduating in December 2015 with a degree in mechanical engineering and as a master’s student graduating in May 2016 with a degree in manufacturing. Her current career aspirations are in the field of advanced manufacturing and additive manufacturing. Kathryn wants to be on the forefront of this manufacturing revolution to transform not only the way products are manufactured but also how they are designed. She also wants to work on additive manufacturing process improvements to increase system reliability and efficiency in order to improve the quality and consistency of the parts produced using these processes.
She has interned at several automotive and non-automotive companies and gained valuable knowledge and experience in her chosen field. Kathryn is a member of WSU’s EcoCAR 3 team, one of sixteen North American university teams participating in a four-year collegiate engineering competition to redesign a sports car to be a hybrid-electric vehicle, reducing its environmental impact while maintaining its consumer appeal. Kathryn hails from Royal Oak, Michigan.
